Hi, I'm Auntie Ny

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate

I am a therapist who believes in honest conversation, practical growth, and emotional healing that lasts. People call me Auntie because it feels familiar. The space I create feels personal, safe, and real. You do not have to perform or explain yourself here. You can simply be human.

My Story

I did not plan to become a therapist. I thought I was going to be an English teacher, but my degree in English helped me to be good at clinical documentation! I had other gifts I used to become a Therapist because I needed someone who could listen without judgment and get me back to myself. It was hard to find a therapist who checked the boxes I was seeking. When I finally experienced how powerful that kind of connection could be, I knew I wanted to give it to others.

Over the years, I have worked with people carrying betrayal, sexual abuse trauma, betrayal, anxiety, family mistrust, depression, burnout, broken trust, and self-doubt. I have watched them learn to set boundaries, speak honestly, and rebuild peace from the inside out. That process never stops being sacred to me.

Therapy with me is not about quick fixes or surface solutions. It is about understanding where you have been, what you believe about yourself, and how to live with more freedom and balance.

How I Work

Grounded, human, and real

Therapy with me is a space for truth

I believe in healing that feels personal, not clinical or distant. You do not have to perform, explain, or prove anything here. You get to show up as you are and let the work begin from there.

Culturally Grounded

Your background, your story, your people, and your faith are not things to be edited or explained. They are part of your strength. The ways you love, care, and connect all have meaning, and I honor that. If your faith or spirituality is part of your healing, we make space for it.

Evidence Informed

My work is built on proven methods that actually help people change. I use approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and trauma focused care in ways that fit your personality and life. Nothing here is copied from a textbook. Everything is adapted for who you are and what you need.

Collaborative and Empowering

I do not believe in fixing people. I believe in walking with them. You bring your story and I bring my skill. Together we create a plan for growth that fits your rhythm. We check in, make adjustments, and celebrate the moments when you notice progress.

You lead the process. I guide it with intention, compassion, and honesty.

Why It Matters

Healing works best when you feel understood. Too many people have spent time explaining their background or defending why something hurt. That kind of exhaustion does not belong in therapy.

When you feel safe to be yourself, the work moves faster. You can get to the real issues, the deep relief, and the kind of peace that stays. Therapy is not meant to make you smaller. It is meant to help you see how capable you already are.

What I Help With

  • • Anxiety and depression
  • • Relationship and family challenges
  • • Major life transitions and identity shifts
  • • Grief, loss, and emotional overwhelm
  • • Rebuilding trust after betrayal or trauma
  • • Creating balance between self, faith, and responsibility

Beyond the Session

When I am not working, I spend time outdoors, cooking, writing, and staying connected to the people who remind me of what matters most. Prayer, sunsets, the sound of crickets chirping, hiking, my children, good smells and good food keep me grounded.

I know what it feels like to need a space that feels both safe and challenging. I am not here to impress you with credentials. I am here to help you heal, grow, and find peace defined by you.

Why Work With Auntie Ny Counseling

You deserve support that feels real. The kind that gets beneath the surface and helps you find yourself again.

When people work with me, they often say it feels different. It feels like being seen by someone who actually understands how life can look good on the outside while feeling heavy on the inside. I help you untangle the weight you carry, make sense of what keeps repeating, and rebuild the parts of you that got left behind.

I do not promise easy. I promise honesty, care, and change that lasts. Together we slow things down, find the patterns that have been running your life, and create a version of peace that actually fits you.

This is healing that feels personal, steady, and real.
